" I believe I was somehow always drawn to taking a piece of reality around me and placing it into my visual realm. I like to call this "Reality Bending": compressing different qualities and textures into dense layers creates a reality mesh. An inner net of notions, networks, and different dimensions results in a reverse depth of the pictorial plane. Standing in front of my work, one could feel as if they grabbed a piece of a painting and pulled it towards themselves. What is painted and what is not? Where does the line blur between what we see and what is visible, what is imaginary, and what is an illusion?"
